UW's The World Needs More Cowboys Event Students come to learn more about the University of Wyoming, UW alumni come to connect with their alma mater and members of the public come to find out more about UW’s presence in their community during a “The World Needs More Cowboys” celebration Monday, August 9, in Riverton. The public is invited to the event from 5-7 p.m. at Central Wyoming College Intertribal Education and Community Center. UW President Ed Seidel will be in attendance and speak during a brief program at the celebration, highlighting the university’s efforts to boost entrepreneurism and the state’s economy, among other topics. President Ed Seidel will be joined by other special guests from the University of Wyoming and UW alum Lance Goede.

RIVERTON KIWANIS: SPONSORS & VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The "Sleep in Heavenly Peace Build Day" is quickly approaching and we need YOU! The Riverton Kiwanis Club has partnered with Sleep In Heavenly Peace- a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids that are sleeping on the floor - and will be hosting a build day on Saturday, August 14th from 8:00 am-11:00 am at Riverton City Park. We are in need of event sponsors (corporate and individual) and 45 volunteers to make this a successful event. Building skills are not a requirement to participate. If you have a desire to serve, we will put you to work.
We have already delivered a large number of beds to children in Riverton. However, the need is large! If you would like to participate in this worthwhile event, please sign up here on "Riverton Build":
