CALLING ALL BUSINESSES!

The Riverton Youth Soccer Assocation has confirmed dates for their next big soccer tournament. The Riverton Rumble soccer tournament will take place April 24-25. The team will boast an outstanding 90+ teams and is expected to bring in at least 1200 people minimum. Currently, RYSA is looking for sponsors. Bailey's Enterprises has generously donated backpacks for all the kids. They are looking for 10 sponsors ($250 for a sponsorship) to help fill the backpack. They are also looking for other sponsors for the event. If you're interested in a sponsorship opportunity, email Shane. Sponsoring an event like this is a great way to support our youth and get advertisement for your business, all while supporting a great cause.

Business need to know:

  • Average spend is over $400/family. If we estimate 4 people per family, that's over $120,000 flowing into our community over the course of ONE weekend.... on the low end. This will have a huge economic impact on our community
  • Mark your calendars and prepare! Make sure that you are properly staffed (if needed). Restaurants, hotels, retail stores, etc. you will see an increase in foot traffic.
  • Get creative! Now is the perfect opportunity to start strategizing on how to create foot traffic to your business. Examples:
    • Bars- create a drink special, work with your hotel partners to get the word out to drive those soccer parents to your place
    • Salons- have a special for soccer moms to get a pedicure while they're waiting for the next game.
    • Hand out coupons at a game
    • Become a sponsor!
  • Make sure your Google Listing is up to date.
    • Check your open business hours, days closed, etc
    • Make sure your address is listed correctly
    • Upload any events, sales, promotions, discounts, etc to your google listing
    • Make sure your Covid-19 information is up to date.
  • Educate your staff! This is the perfect opportunity to capture repeat customers. When a tourist asks, "What's there to do in Riverton, WY?", we want them to respond with "Let me tell you about all of the wonderful things Riverton has to offer!" This may persuade them to vacation here. If you need some help:
    • Riverton chamber has a ton of brochures for free that include self guided tours to things like Sacajawea's gravesite.
Museums (Riverton Museum, CATS, Wind River Heritage Center)
    • Spend an hour checking out our local retailers that offer Wind River Country flair.
    • Have them check out the walking Art Tour where famous pieces are located on the sides of buildings around town
    • Check out local calendars:Wind River Country, County10, Riverton Chamber of Commerce, Riverton Ambassadors, CWC
    • Suggest a movie at Barry Cinemas!
    • Suggest a walk through our Rails to Trails and learn some fascinating Wyoming history or the Riverwalk where they can enjoy a scenic stroll along the banks of the Wind River
Picnic lunch in one of Riverton's many public parks
    • Check out the historic 1838 Rendezvous Site

The Riverton Chamber of Commerce would be happy to provide any information you may need. We're looking forward to the event and want to give a BIG THANKS to the Riverton Youth Soccer Assocation for putting this on and boosting our communities economy.
