SURVEY! The good local food people of Fremont County continue to think on, and visit about, how to create a state-inspected "commissary" kitchen for local food businesses to utilize for their value-added food processing, food preparation and private chef-ing. Perhaps, one located at Riverton's Fremont Local Market and another in Lander.
To facilitate this, CWC seeks input on how to expand the local food economy through the production of locally grown and processed foods, developing additional sales channels for local food retail, what the education needs are for developing value-added processed food products and if there is a need for a shared-use inspected commercial kitchen for making value-added products.

Please join the conversation by filling out this linked survey. Your responses are anonymous unless you choose to provide contact information.

support the rhs after party!
Riverton High School After Prom is funded solely by donations and grants and on average costs between $10,000-$15,000.
The party is held to keep our youth safe and off the roads on one of the statistically “deadliest” nights of the year.
We rely completely on the generosity and support of our community businesses and families and, of course, our amazing Rec Board!
Volunteers will be heading out to many of our local businesses this month with flyers. Please remember, every.little.bit.counts!
If you would like to donate,
please comment or message us (on Facebook) and we will be sure to send someone by.
Personal and family donations are also greatly appreciated!

Red Roof Meat Company Newletter: Growth Hormones Plus - April 17, 2023

FARM NEWSLETTER – 17 APR 2023 ~ GROWTH HORMONES PLUS

Have any of you noticed that Land of Lakes milk cartons no longer say "Made from cows that have not been treated with the artificial growth hormones rBGH/rBST".  Of course, the obligatory FDA statement stating something like, “Don’t worry, the government has found the genetically engineered hormone to be perfectly safe,” is missing as well.  (Doesn’t that statement make you think that something sneaky is going on?) Anyway, you know what I think? Yep, the bastards quietly added this GE material back into production.

Good time to sneak this stuff in as consumers are wrapped up with other news, like wars, nukes, crime waves, bank runs, and 18,000 dead milk cows. Pretty hard to focus on mundane stuff like poison in our food supply.

So, today I read an article regarding lab-grown chicken meat that has met FDA approval (no way, right?). Yes, it appears to be true.  As if chicken nuggets aren’t weird enough.

And now mRNA vaccines are to be injected into beef and pork – if this practice isn’t already underway. Hmmm, my takeaway from the last three years was to stay away from mRNA.  But then, we Luddites tend to see technology through dark sunglasses.

One last thought... If you lack trust in the FDA – and who doesn’t – and you would like your dinner table to be free of these experimental meats, there is one way to go. Buy locally, and know your farmer.  Simple as that.

Regards,

Steve

Dear Herdshare Owners,

Just a few things:

Little farm update – we have 21 lambs and 8 calves on the ground with 3 more ewes and 11 cows left to deliver for the season.

You are cordially invited to this year’s 2nd Annual Herdshare Farm Party.

The party will be May 21st from 1-4pm.

What to expect - lunch, farm tours, and a chance to see your animals at a family-friendly event!

Please RSVP as soon as you can with the number of people in your group so we can plan accordingly!

I will not be at the Riverton or Lander Farmers Market this week.

For the Riverton folks please schedule a time with me to collect your order on Saturday the 22nd or Sunday the 23rd (at Fremont Local Market).

For the Lander folks I can have someone deliver to the Lander farmers market from 1 to 3 pm at the VFW on Saturday the 15th.

Please see the attachment for this week’s newsletter.

NOTE* We are now on Facebook!

Please like and follow us at Red Roof Meat Company!
