ROAD SIGNS
Sorry about last week’s newsletter. DeeAnn and I took advantage of a small
weather window to hustle over to Wisconsin to visit her folks, and I simply
fell short of time.
And today I’m going to go short on the local food
movement and specifically Red Roof Meat Company news in order to share a few
laughs with you. These are advertising gems
I enjoyed while rolling across Interstate 90, by and large, though a few other
roads as well.
We’ll start with this sign – actually five signs – in
South Dakota, where their capitol city is Pierre (and sounds closer to Pier)
There was a farmer from Pierre
Whose Holstein produced cold beer
To pour him another
He simply tugged on her udder
While peanuts shot off her rear
Another good one, this for a Mexican restaurant: “So
authentic, President Trump threatened to build a fence around it.”
And this one for a bar in Rapid City: “If you exercise a lot,
you can look good naked. Or, you can
just drink tequila. Your choice.”
And this highway informational sign heading west out of
Casper (this being the day before our last storm). Pure Wyoming here: “If you have travel plans for Monday,
Tuesday, or Wednesday…Change them.”
And lastly this, a large number of signs all across the
Midwest which weren’t funny in the slightest:
“Diesel - $3.39”. That’s about a
buck forty cheaper than here.

Dear Herdshare Owners,
Just a few things:
Farm Update - 20 lambs and 5 calves on the ground!
I will not be at the Riverton or Lander Farmers Market this week.
For the Riverton folks please schedule a time with me to collect your order on Saturday the 15th(at Fremont Local Market).
For the Lander folks I will have someone deliver to the Lander farmers market from 1 to 3 pm at the VFW on Saturday the 15th.

We also recognize that this market relationship is not for everybody. If that’s the case with you, please let us know. We’ll be happy to buy back your share and reimburse your five dollars – or even a pound of ground beef if you prefer – and take you off our email list.
